Fresh Everyday Make-up (Around Town Magazine)

Here is another look which I created for the Around Town Magazine, this look is a much more natural, everyday make-up look.

I chose to keep the skin nice and fresh with a subtle pink glow on the cheeks, for the lips I wanted to add a slight metallic sheen to keep it on trend for the A/W 14 make-up trends.

To see how I created the flawless fresh skin check out my other video below, How To: Highlight and Contour :)

Products Used:
MAC Painterly Paint Pot
MAC Eyeshadow in Omega, Wedge and Malt

Summer holiday essentials!

Whether you are spending the summer at home or jetting off for luxury sun, here are my essential beauty products to keep you safe and looking beautiful all summer long!

Sun Care
Okay, first thing is first! Safety in the sun always come first because burnt skin is not cute!
I know you want that beautiful glowing bronzed skin which may tempt you to sunbathe with low or even no SPF, this can lead to premature skin ageing and future health issues. Using a good sunscreen will help to protect your skin aswel as allowing you to tan, don't forget to use a lip balm that also contains SPF, the skin on your lips is extremely thin therefore will burn much easier.
After a day in the sun be sure to apply your favourite after sun lotion to rehydrate your skin allowing that gorgeous glow to stick around that bit longer! I love to use Aloe Vera Gel after a day in the skin, it is super hydrating and helps to repair any areas where you might have burnt, you can follow this with after sun for extra hydration.

Skin Care
Whilst on holiday or sending most of the day in the sun it is important to not neglect your skin or to lose track of your skincare routine. Exfoliating is a great way to remove any dead skin cells allowing fresh new skin to come through, using a body polishing sponge will help to gently buff away any dry areas without being too harsh on your skin. Follow this step with a nourishing body lotion to rehydrate your skin. For an evening out, lightly spritz your body with your favourite fragrance. I am in love with the scent 'Tease' by Victoria's Secrete in the body mist, it's not as heavily fragranced as a perfume which in the summer heat can attract some unwanted bugs but is enough for a natural light scent.

Make-up
You may find within the summer months your make-up doesn't last as long as your skin will likely be more oilyer than usual. To keep your make-up in place use a primer that will absorb oils as this will be the most likely factor as to why your make-up is moving throughout the day.

Foundation and concealer is all personal preference and trying out different products and brands until you find a foundation and concealer that works best for you, your skin and the finish you are wanting will help you to ensure you are wearing the right  foundation to last longer. I have quite dry skin and love a dewy healthy finish to my foundation with a good coverage concealer therefore my favourite products are the Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation and High Precision Retouch Concealer. To achieve that beautiful bronzed glow apply a liquid bronze highlighter to the highest points of your face or lightly buff the product over your skin for an all over glow! Also add a small amount to your collar bone for a sexy finish to an evening outfit.

For a glam beach look or effortless evening beauty opt for waterproof eye products which are quick and easy to apply and will last for hours even when swimming or in humid heat. Start with a water resistance creamy eyeshadow, my go too shade is 'Let's Skate' which is a Paint Pot by MAC, it is a extremely sparkly eyeshadow which looks beautiful as a base. Follow this with a waterproof eyeliner pen to quickly line your top lashes and for extra glam add a wing. You can use black to create a classic look or add some colour such as navy blue for the sunny days. To finish off the eyes apply a waterproof eye pencil in the waterline smudging it right into the lower lashes and softly blend the colour out for a sexy smokey finish.

Enjoy the sun whether it is at home or abroad and try out my essential tips for a sexy summer!

Miss Grimsby 2014

I had the pleasure of working with the Miss Grimsby Awards 2014 with Miss England 2008, Sian Gissing. I created looks on many of the competitors including Sian hereself and the winner Millie Margetts.

Millie wanted a beautiful and elegant make-up look which would just enhance her natural beauty without using too many products.

For Millie's eyes we decided to use slightly shimmery off white colours leading up to matte soft grey/brown tones in the outter crease to enhance her natural eye shape, these colours and textures complimented her numerous outfits beautifully and paired it with a super glossy nude lip gave it that extra glam edge. To finish off the look Millie wanted her skin to look flawless and glowing, to achieve this I layered different textured concealers over a glowy foundation to cover any imperfections flawlessly without the make-up actually being visible on the skin. I also used a super sparkly highlighter around Millie's cheekbones, nose, brows and also swept a small amount over the top lip to create the illusion of fuller lips.

Products used:
MAC Skin Base Visage Primer
Nars Sheer Glow Foundation
MAC Pro Longwear Concealer
MAC Studio Finish Concealer
MAC Give Me Sun Bronzer
MAC Soft and Gentle Highlighter
MAC Eyeshadows in shades - Shroom, Charcoal Brown, Embark and Shadowy Lady
MAC Boldly Bare Lip Pencil
MAC Blankety Lipstick
MAC Just Superb Lipgloss

... Yes I like MAC :)
